Statement of Lachlan Macquarie's military service, detailing his rise through military ranks from Cornet (or Ensign) in 1777, to Lieutenant Colonel in 1801. Lt Col Macquarie returned to Britain in 1807 from service in India to join the 73rd regiment, remaining in that Command until sent out to New South Wales in May, 1809.
